How long should I store water in my copper vessel for?

Some suggest leaving water in copper vessels overnight. We like to always use fresh water in our vessels and we tend to keep it for up to 3-4 hrs.

Does drinking from copper affect the taste of water?

This is very subjective. Some people describe a more metallic taste to the water and others don’t notice a difference. Our tumblers are lined with stainless steel so that a greater variety of drinks can be consumed from them. We recommend that only water is consumed from our other pure copper products, such as the jug and bottles.

Can I drink too much copper water?

The practice of storing water in copper is age-old within many cultures. However, there is a degree of concern held by some regarding the recommended daily intake of copper by humans. The amount of copper mineral deposits that accumulate in water stored in copper for up to 8hrs is well beneath the RDA. In fact, recent studies have shown that after storing contaminated water in copper for 16hrs there were no remnants of bacteria. Further to this, the copper content within the water was 0.2ppm, which is well within the safe limits set by the World Health Organisation.

Can I drink hot water out of my copper bottle?

No. Copper is a very good conductor of heat and our bottles are not insulated, so please do not fill them with hot water!
